I was blown away by this disc! It is outstanding! Track 4 is a long instrumental dominated by a guitar solo, and track 5 is quite good. But its tracks 3, 8, 9, 10, and 11 that give a firm foundation to the crowning glories of this set of music (and for modern rock music): tracks 6 and 7! Not a bad song on the whole disc.
Good CD with their less famous songs on it. Great band.
Another classic by a music icon group....
Though without the group's master storyteller Roger Waters, the album carries on Floyd's concept format with a narrative of a man's relationship gone wrong. The lack of communication parallels the real-life situation of Gilmour and Waters at the time. As with their previous releases, particularly Dark Side and WYWH, best appreciated through the headphones. Gilmour"s note-sustaining, soaring blues satisfies most fans I would think. Fans should also check out "Live in Gdansk" for a quality live recording. To me, these albums conjure imagery that groups such as Radiohead may have aspired to but never succeeded on disc.
CD was okay – but not one of my favorites.
