Our friend Naturalist thinks that by reviewing twice he makes his points more clearly. Sometimes less is more.

The book’s “Description” and the review by “Publisher’s Weekly” are extremely biased, quite contemptuous of the author. (Incidentally, PW doesn’t label known Liberal authors “liberal,” although they have no problem calling Woods’ opinions as “classically conservative”…) It is obvious they spouse the same opinion of the books Woods condemn. My suggestion is read the book and arrive to your own conclusions.

This review is quite biased and it's safe to assume that many books recommended are corrections of liberal revisionist history books. The fact is that public school children are still encouraged to view the South as morally wrong in the Civil War and the North as morally right. Some kind of balance needs to be struck without sacrificing the facts of history.
