This book is surprisingly easy to read. Bernstein is excellent in keeping one's interest and attention on many "dry" subjects. I learned about the inner workings of our government.
It is a big book and was unable to finish it. Instead, I bought one on amazon. Now, I can continue my reading and be able to keep a copy around for my children and grandchildren if they want to learn more about this fascinating woman who almost became our 45th president. I hope she can still do many great things for this world and country in the future.

I admit to skimming this, as the description in Pub. Weekly // muddled \\ is right on target!
The last decent piece Bernstein did was the article on The Four Hundred in Rolling Stone [where he writes of the multitude of CIA-connected reporters and so-called journalists, probably a larger number today]. Bernstein has simply spent too much time eating on the tab of too many hedge fund dudes to have any type of objective platform to stand upon.
Since this was after HRC's senate time, but before her SecState time, the reader will have difficulty fully grasping just why fascist Henry Kissinger, and uber neocon, Dick Cheney, have both endorsed Hillary Rodham Clinton for the presidency - - but no real progressive will have problems understanding why she should never be the president! [A good place to start would be this month's issue of Atlantic magazine with an excerpt of Thomas Frank's recent book, describing what HRC does when taking time off from offshoring American jobs, overthrowing democracies, and subsequently aiding in the murders of foreign union organizers!]
