Josh lives in New York City. Through his telescope, he watches a baseball-sized metal ball approaching Earth from the sky. It lands in his room. Months later, a massive fireball crash lands in Liberty City. The human looking craft is controlled by 100 one-inch tall aliens. Officer Dooley is a superstitious cop searching for the space ship. The aliens are seeking a way to save their planet and to do that they need salt. Now they need to recover the metal ball in order to produce the salt using the oceans of the Earth. The Captain spends time with Josh and Gina, and realizes that humans are more advanced than they thought.

I found this hilarious- not thrilling, but hilarious!

I think that some previous comments may be misleading, but the key words are USE YOUR IMAGINATION.

If you don't, you will end up pointing out useless facts during the entire film.

Very cheesy and predictable, but Eddie Murphy has some HILARIOUS moments. Worth a watch if you're in the mood for a light movie.

Skip It - Meet Dave (2008) 90 min. starring Eddie Murphy. What ever happened to this actor/comedian? He's been starring in some really bad films of late - Meet Dave is no exception. The production values are terrible and the story is just horrendous about a space ship that built to look like a human, who just so happens to look like ..... wait for it.....Eddie Murphy. The little humanoid aliens need water for their dying planet so they trek to Earth to steal our water - the nerve of them. These bozos haven't realized travelling light years that even if they get our water, it'll dry up on their planet because it doesn't rain?!? The film is so bad (and probably the worst film I've seen in 2008) that even the opening credits bored me to tears. Oh, one more thing, Eddie looks mighty creepy in this picture with his fake metallic smile (if you can't imagine what that could mean) fast forward to the first time Elizabeth Banks invites Eddie over. Then again, why bother. Borrow "48 Hrs" instead - you'll see the real Eddie Murphy.
