This 2010 book should include the dangers of Roundup as an herbicide. Roundup is known to cause cancers, and should never be used, yet Schrock frequently recommends it as the only truly effective way to destroy particular weed problems, for example, P. 143, with "bent grass creeping into [a] Kentucky Bluegrass lawn". Schrock recommends increased use of Roundup for this problem where the person had already used it in spots.
The list of insect problems for Alberta garden plants is definitely not exhaustive, so this is a moderately useful book in identifying what may be a problem affecting garden plants in an Alberta yard.
You can get some useful information from this book, as long as you ignore his Roundup advice and realize that there may be local sources with information that may be missing from this publication.
