This book was so slow. It felt as though Garwood had a contract for a certain length of book so there is a lot of useless text. The first three chapters are a complete waste. I agree that the grandmother was funny but at the same time I also thought she should be institutionalized.

this book was a better read. better then the book the IDEAL MAN. I like Lyra , Sam and her grandmother...but that's It for me. It was a little funny because of the grandmother. I don't know her books just don't do It for me. this book is call SIZZLE but It doesn't match the story line. she is better at Historical books.

The book was okay – but not one of my favorites.

Laugh out loud funny in several places as usual with Ms. Garwood's "Buchanan family" books. A nice, light police novel with a sexy side.

Okay. So, I love Julie Garwood: I own most of her books, and they sit on my often read and re-read shelves, and have since the 1990's (OMG!). The story was great, loved the characters...but the writting wasn't up to par: sometimes choppy, and it distracted me.

Milo hadn't been inside a library since he was eight years old, so he didn't know about all the changes. He was unaware that there were detectors that would set off an alarm if even one book was taken out without being stamped, but he found out about them when he passed through the metal bars and a loud pulsating beep brought people running.
He also vastly underestimated librarians...No, these women didn't wear their hair in buns or walk around in ugly, black, tie shoes with thick soles. The two women he encountered were kind of hot, and if he hadn't been trying to get away from them with two grocery bags loaded with books, he might have tried to ask one or both of them out.
