Choices Of One is such a cool title! Anyways, I thought that this book was pretty good. The plot twists and surprises are totally unexpected, and this novel really does have an original trilogy feel to it. I also liked that there were more Han, Luke, and Leia parts than there was in Allegiance. Another pro to this book was that Thrawn was in here, and we also get to see what happens to the Stormtroopers that made up The Hand Of Judgement group. Probably the best thing about this book was that there was no bad words.

Timothy Zahn once again weaves his amazing web of storytelling. Also known as the master of the Star Wars novel, Zahn always outshines all other writers in the star wars universe. Choices of One is chalked full of appearances of characters from other Zahn novels including early appearances of Thrawn,Mara Jade, and others. It is also a great read for new fans who have just started to learn about star wars. I highly recommend this book for any Star Wars fan. Personally,I think no other Star Wars author captures the true star wars spirit and pulls it off with such extreme flair, like Timothy Zahn. although I still recommend Michael Stackpole's X-wing series and Kevin J. Anderson's Jedi academy series. This series (starting with book 1: Allegiance) will not disappoint!

Typical Timothy Zahn style. Zahn's first masterpiece, the Thrawn Trilogy, was wonderful, and here he goes back in time, working with younger versions of Luke, Han and Leia. Also he develops his prize characters, Mara Jade and (Senior Captain in this novel) Thrawn. Also had those unexpected little twists he's so good at, including betrayal, both intentional and unintentional, and plot twists, such as killing the wrong person. A wonderful read, i recommend it for all Star Wars fans.

I was very impressed with Timothy Zahn after reading his Heir to the empire series earlier this year. I believe his strengths lie in complex story telling over several novels. Choices of One is good, it feels like he's following the same formula of telling the story from many perspectives but since he only has one book to tell the story in, it wasn't very developed. I found Luke to be quite annoying, and Han and Leia weren't much better. It was nice to read about Mara when she was at her top with the Emperor backing her. I think the part I liked best was the teaser at the end for a new novel by a different author:)

CAR'DAS: "Sounds like you're feeling more charitable against the Rebellion these days."
THRAWN: "Not at all. Their military abilities are undeniable, but their chances for long-term stability are nonexistent. Multiple species, with multiple viewpoints and racial philosophies, simply cannot hold power together for long. The dominant voice must certainly be wise enough to adopt ideas and methods from its allies and member peoples. But there must be a dominant voice, or there is only chaos. In this part of the galaxy, that voice is the empire."

GOVERNOR FERROUZ: "I remember now. They attacked us. In my office, right?"
MARA: "Right. And you blocked one of the shots with your head. Generally not a good idea."

"Yet the need to create is a drive that lies deep within each of us. We all strive to build empires, whether of stone or people or words. Empires we hope will survive us. In the end, though, each of us must necessarily leave our creations behind. All we can hope for is to also leave behind a worthy successor to continue our work. Or who can at least maintain it for a season." -Senior Captain Thrawn

"So Lord Odo studies ancient legends. Grand Admiral Zaarin has a passion for music. Senior Captain Thrawn is insane over art. I knew a colonel once who collected different versions of sabacc cards. There are eccentrics all across the galaxy." -Captain Drusan
