The stakes are high, with mortal and immortal fighting to grasp the ultimate prize, in the triumphant conclusion to Fallon's Tide Lords quartet.

McMillan Palgrave

The magical Tide has turned and the Immortal Lords once again have their full power. The Immortal Lord Cayal welcomes this power as a means to an end--his end, preferably. Cayal has wanted to cease his existence for longer than human history and it looks like he might finally get his wish. Rumors swirl that the Chaos Crystal, the mysterious prism that brought the Immortals to the world, has been found. Cayal is determined to seize the gem.

Among those who search for this long-lost object is Cayal’s former lover, the very mortal Lady Arkady. She’s been captured by Jaxyn, a Tide Lord who is decidedly against Cayal and is seeking the Crystal for his own nefarious schemes. Arkady escapes, and is off on her desperate search…for if the gem falls into the hands of the Immortals, what will become of humanity?

The stakes are high, with mortal and immortal fighting to grasp this ultimate prize. Whoever holds the Crystal can decide the fate of the world.

& Taylor

While the powerfully immortal Lord Cayal seeks a mysterious lost prism in order to end his existence, his former lover, the Lady Arkady, struggles to escape imprisonment by enemy Tide Lord Jaxyn, who seeks the prism for his own purposes, in a conclusion to the quartet that includes The Gods of Amyrantha. 12,500 first printing.

The first three books were so good that I expected this one to continue int their vein, but unfortunately it did not. The best feature of the first three was the interaction between the characters, but *spoilers*....not only did Fallon kill off most of the characters, she completely throws their interactions out the window. Completely disappointing ending to what could have been an otherwise gem of a Fantasy series.

it wasn't as good as the first three books.

Much as I have greatly enjoyed Fallon's previous series and even the first three books in the Tide Lords I found this book disappointing. It got really weird at the end and though it looks as if it might be continuing the series but I'm not sure if I want to read on. Too many of the charaters have benn eliminated.
