Otter 501 chronicles the remarkable story of an orphaned baby sea otter who washed ashore on the California coast when she was less than a week old. "501", as she was called, was rescued by the Monterey Bay Aquarium WSea Otter Research and Conservation team and placed in the Aquarium's ground breaking surrogate program. In an incredible act Toola, a big-hearted mother otter, adopted 501 as her own. For months Toola helped 501 develp the skills she would need on her journey back to the wild.
