NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER • Features a new introduction on the origins of the Will Trent novels and Fractured’s place in the series

Ansley Park is one of Atlanta’s most upscale neighborhoods—but in one gleaming mansion, in a teenager’s lavish bedroom, a girl has been savagely murdered. And in the hallway, her mother stands amid shattered glass, having killed her daughter’s attacker with her bare hands. Detective Will Trent of the Georgia Bureau of Investigation is one of the first on the scene. Trent soon sees something that the Atlanta cops are missing, something in the trail of blood, in a matrix of forensic evidence, and in the eyes of the stunned mother. When another teenage girl goes missing, Trent knows that this case, which started in the best of homes, is about to cut quick and deep through the ruins of perfect lives broken wide-open: where human demons emerge with a vengeance.

Baker & Taylor
Accustomed to betrayal and violence after years of a brutal marriage, Gailyn Campano reaches her breaking point when she returns home to find an intruder holding her daughter hostage and somehow finds the strength to eliminate the threat, permanently, leaving Georgia Bureau of Investigation agent Will Trent to unravel the case. 140,000 first printing.

My second Karin Slaughter book. I'm not reading her novels in any specific order and I loved this story. Characters were believeable and the plot was well thought out. Not as graphic as 'Pretty Girls' but still a great book.

Karin Slaughter really does get better and better with each book. Her books are really gritty--not for the faint of heart. But they are so twisty, it's nearly impossible to set them down. I can't wait to pick up the next one in the series.

The charactors are believable, the story is tough, once in it I couldn't not finish it. This is the first book of hers I read and I now have read all I can get my hands on. You know what they put on to wear that day, you know how they felt, what they thought and what they went thru that day. I felt as if I was reading several diaries in one with a story I had to know the outcome.

In one of the best areas in Atlanta a young girl is brutally killed. Detective Will Trent of the Georgia Bureau of Investigation has to try to solve this case. Very interesting read with a lot of twists and turns.

Not a bad 'whodunit', with some interesting and unexpected twists. I really like the character Will Trent, who also appears in 'Triptych'.
