Champion of the mystery section in a Minnesota library, Karen Nash is embarking on a dream trip to London. But she is clueless why the love of her mid-life, Dave, would dump her hours before take-off, until she spies him at the airport with a young honey! She decides the best revenge is to get on that plane anyway and entertain schemes for Dave's untimely demise. After touching ground in the hallowed homeland of Christie, Sayers, and Peters, she checks into a cozy B and B run by charming bibliophile Caldwell Perkins. Soon she is spilling tears in her pint at the corner pub, sharing her heartbreak saga with a stranger. That night, a B and B guest drops out of circulation, permanently. Then Karen realizes Dave and his cutie are an assassin's target. With the meticulous attention to detail that makes her a killer librarian, Karen sleuths her way through her own real-life mystery in which library science meets the art of murder.

Intriguing first novel. A "cozy" with an American librarian in London. Ending a bit contrived, but I would like to read more!

A leisurely-paced "cozy," there's not much here that's interesting.

This book is the first in a series. As is quite common it struggles a little. It is a fun read and an interesting view of London.

Fun little cozy mystery with all the ingredients. Attractive "older woman", loves books, librarian, jilted by one lover, finds another. Oh, and a bucket of money lands in her lap at the end to ensure she'll have lots of freedom in future books. Another Aurora Teagarden w/o the southern feistiness.

I need my protagonists to be believable, at least to you and, alas, Karen just isn't.

I enjoyed the main character's voice and could identify with her and her confusion with the boyfriend betraying her and her attraction to the B&B owner. Enjoyed the details about London through her eyes. A good mystery about London, English authors and a mid-life change of attitude about life.

Entertaining cozy mystery about a Minnesota librarian who gets dumped by her boyfriend just hours before they are to leave on a much anticipated first trip to London. He takes another woman in her place. Our brokenhearted yet determined-to-see-London heroine Karen buys another ticket and flies over on their flight, half-seriously planning revenge. I loved the references to London, books, and the ending was just perfect. To be a series. Written by Mary Logue using the pen name Mary Lou Kirwin. HCL librarian Mary S. is mentioned in Kirwin's acknowledgments!
