Back in the 1970s, several patients in an experimental sleep study reported seeing shadowy intruders. These patients, and hundreds of others, died in their sleep soon after. Doctors called the phenomenon ''Sudden Unexplained Nocturnal Death Syndrome''. They refused to discuss the shadows. Now, a struggling late night radio host and a skeptical CDC investigator have begun researching a disturbing new outbreak of shadowy sightings and sleep fatalities. Could this be a case of paranoid hallucination, or are these victims literally being scared to death by actual nightmare creatures?

Nothing new in this movie as far as special effects that we haven’t seen 1000 times before. The movie was very cheaply made cheaply acted also in other words, it was a dumb movie.

Nowhere near as good as all the hype made it out to be. Regardless of the "footage" and "real interviews" the truth of the matter is if you believe something to be true, it will be, for you at least. Same idea as voodoo curses and the like. We give these ideas power to scare us. Now, there were a few scary moments, but at best this movie at times comes off as a film version of House of Leaves (although nowhere near as good or terrifying) in the sense that you find yourself going, hey...that hits close to home... but folks, everyone's body goes thru a paralyzed state when they sleep It's called REM Atonia or Muscle Atonia. It's just part of the sleep cycle, some people wake up and have the feeling they can't move... we all do it whether or not you wake up. In the end, (and back to the review) watch this late at night and it will scare you. Wait till light and it mildly entertains you, it gets old at times and eventually i did my nails .

Poor. In our opinion, trying to make the film as a semi-documentary did not work, the "real" interviews on half-screens were annoying at best.

Interesting horror storyline. Had the potential for a lot of scares. Didn't deliver. The "actual footage" thrown in made it compelling enough to watch til the end, but overall disappointing. Very average.
