Written purely for the humor found in every day parenting, which at times, is all you need to hear. I found the situations discussed to be true to life, yet mostly times that would rarely be exchanged in polite conversation. The pictures were hilarious and straight to the point.

I am not a parent and never intend to be. Nor am I in the market for how-to books about parenting.
But I came across "Parenting (Illustrated with Crappy Pictures)," while searching the shelves for something else entirely and was intrigued by its bright red cover and funny, stick-figure illustrations. I began reading it--and absolutely loved it. Author Amber Dusick has a wonderfully engaging writing style, blunt yet rueful with tongue firmly in cheek. Being an aunt I recognized several Laws of Parenting (remembering especially the parts about poop) but laughed loudest (meaning out loud, on the bus to work) at Chapter 8's "Language is Cool," and Dusick's hilarious musings on Cute Misunderstandings, Swearing, and--I am not making this up-- Penis Pizza (Or what happens when the pizza guy delivers dinner to your door just as your small children are loudly singing a penis song in the bathroom tub--"PENIS PENIS PENIS" is the entire lyric--and all your husband's attempts to shush them only make them laugh hysterically and sing louder as the pizza delivery guy stares at you and you try desperately to think of something to say that will reassure him your family is, you know, normal).
A very funny, very true book about the joys and trials of raising kids. Very highly recommended, whether you are a parent or not. (But especially if you are, or intend to be.)

I laughed out loud several times during this blunt and honest look at parenting littles. Will appeal to fans of Jenny McCarthy, Stefanie Wilder-Taylor and Heather Armstrong.

I laughed so hard during the chapter on traveling with children!
