Birders: The Central Park Effect reveals the extraordinary array of wild birds who grace Manhattan's celebrated patch of green, and the equally colorful New Yorkers who schedule their lives around the rhythms of migration. Author Jonathan Franzen, an idiosyncratic trombone technician, and a septuagenarian bird-tour leader are among the lively cast of characters in this charming, lyrical documentary that transports the viewer to the dazzling, hidden world of America's most famous park.

A lovely, light documentary! I loved seeing the vibrancy and colours of the birds, and their sounds against the beautiful backdrop of the woodland in the city. Various emotions are struck: Star's story is touching and inspiring while other birder's explanation of why birding isn't perceived as 'cool' is hilarious. The importance of preserving green space is serious. This film was also a good reminder of how to enjoy the moment and appreciate the spontaneity of life.

This beautiful, hour-long documentary follows the birds and birders of Central Park through a little more than a year of seasons. I recommend it for everyone--casual nature observers through serious birders.

Very good documentary about the importance of green areas for birds and how we need to connect with nature for our own well-being.

A beautiful movie, powered by a love of life, of nature and especially a love of birds. Who would have thought that so many beautiful birds touch down in Central Park during the course of a year?

Wonderfully documented film about both the birds and the mammals (people) who love them in Central Park year round. It resonated well with me, as a birder for the past 3 years. It DOES feel rather runny to tell people I bird, or which birds we've seen, when they get all glassy eyed; this film sheds light on WHY urbanites flock to see spring migrants and WHY we need managed green space around the country. Nicely done.

Delightful from beginning to end. Spans the 4 seasons in Central Park and the birds that migrate there throughout the year.

This was a delightful video to watch. Beautiful colors mixed with compelling human stories about bird watching in New York.
