Judy Blume tackles death and inevitable change through the Wexler family. When Davey and her family uproot themselves after the passing of her father, Davey confronts her biggest fears and carves a future for her family where their dreams are able to soar.

Well written by the prolific Judy Blume, Tiger Eyes chronicles a family's efforts to heal after the shooting death of their father. Set In Los Alamos, NM from a 15 year old girl's perspective.

Davey, a 15 year old girl, looses her father to a holdup at his 7-Eleven store in Atlantic City, NJ. Davey, her mother Gwen, and her younger brother Jason go to Aunt Bitsy and Uncle Walter's house in another state, to cope. The visit extends and Davey and Jason are enrolled in school. Davey befriends a girl, Jane, who is a drinks a lot. Davey goes to the canyon and meets Wolf. The become friends, and he calls Davey "Tiger". Then Wolf's father dies and Wolf vanishes.
Will Davey recover from her father's death? Will she see Wolf again?

Author Judy Blume states that Tiger Eyes is about the sudden, tragic loss of someone you love. She lost her father suddenly, when she was 21. The main character’s feelings were based on those of Judy Blume.
There is a variety of characters in this book, and was moving and emotional to read. It is a great, short read, and I do recommend reading it.

It was an okay read. Not very interesting, in-orignal plot of a girls whose father is killed, and her family moves to a new area to recover. She meets friends and recovers. I wouldn't recomend it.
