touching doc as adoptees ask 'who am I really?" loved by adoptive families but still longing for connection to birth country and possibly birth parents. kudos to the adoptive mother who learned the language before meeting her daughter and to the parents who provide the opportunity to their adopted daughters to establish connections to their pasts.

Moving, eloquent, and beautifully depicted documentary on Chinese girls adopted in America, and worldwide. Couldn't get through it with dry eyes. Bravo to the director/producer of this project, and thanks to the girls featured in the film, for such brilliant insight into a subject so foreign to outsiders. Compelling and profoundly informative.

The longing to meet their birth parents or not? You'll hear it first hand from adoptees on what is truly on their mind. The journey of following the life stories of these amazing young ladies are very engaging. They share candidly their struggles and triumphs, as any human being finding meaning and identity. Wonderful movie!

Not only is this the story of the individual adoptions of four girls in China, by four families in the USA, it is the story of their growing awareness as teenagers of their differences. One said she is a banana -- yellow on the outside and white on the inside. One spoke of not truly fitting into either world, the China of her birth or the USA of her life. Do they want to look for birth parents and birth family or not? Is it even possible in such a huge country? All of these questions and more are explored in this documentary. Some answers are also discovered. This is an interesting and informative film.

Such an eloquent and deeply layered exploration of the beauty and pain associated with adoption. This film focuses on four American teenage girls who were adopted from China, as they search for identity and belonging. Full of joy and sorrow, this movie will change your life.
