I found this book by chance, and I picked it up because I thought it might be a good read. This is the second of a trilogy, even though I skipped the first one and jumped right into this one. The authors do a good job of recapping events and main ideas from the first book, though, so I got caught up pretty quickly. Though I didn't know what to expect at first from a series I'd never read before and a book I knew hardly anything about, I have to say that I really enjoyed reading this book and I recommend it to anyone who likes Fantasy books. The story was new and interesting. Both authors do a wonderful job of describing Alfonso's colorful world, and I found most of the characters to be likable and interesting. The climactic ending definitely kept me in suspense!
