Is America a source of pride, as Americans have long held, or shame, as Progressives allege? Beneath an innocent exterior, are our lives complicit in a national project of theft, expropriation, oppression, and murder, or is America still the hope of the world?New York Times bestselling author Dinesh D'Souza says these questions are no mere academic exercise. It is the Progressive view that is taught in our schools, that is preached by Hollywood, and that shapes the policies of the Obama administration. If America is a force for inequality and injustice in the world, its power deserves to be diminished; if traditional America is based on oppression and theft, then traditional America must be reformed—and the federal government can do the reforming. In America: Imagine a World without Her D'Souza offers a passionate and sharply reasoned defense of America, knocking down every important accusation made by Progressives against our country. Is America a...

I feel bad for people who keeps saying that it was Republican Propaganda. "Dinesh did an amazing job of presenting the views of his opposition and of America's opposition, even though some of the people are downright pure unfiltered evil. (Discussed Bill Ayers and his views despite the fact that he is a terrorist that tried to kill innocent people for example.) I am impressed with the bringing to light of stories that hadn't been told or had in fact been buried by those who fancy themselves the gate keepers of our historical understanding..." It explained how the leftist's ideology formed and how they influenced the mainstream media and the young generation..."I simply have to say that this is one of those books that begs the viewer give it a chance with an open mind...". If you see "propaganda" or frame everything in left or right to the death, then "your part of the problem and beyond saving anyway...". Very good uplifting book. There is movie version as well, will definitely check it out!

“Review: Is Dinesh D'Souza's 'America' The Worst Political Documentary Of All-Time?”

It's painfully-laughable how many people go to a criminal scab like Dinesh D'Souza to get their fill of anti-Obama arguments, welcome to the political theatre!

Obama and D'Souza are financed by the same Wall Street elites who make up the status quo. The illusory political theatre they construct using politics and mass media turns participants into spectators. Spectators watch and argue lesser issues, consuming propaganda, and changing nothing.

THAT is true Conservatism. Conserve the status quo. Protect the elites at all costs, regardless of what happens to the working class.

Imagine an Iran where the democratic government had yet to be overthrown by America's CIA and today is a thriving, empathic economic democracy? Imagine a Guatemala, not ruled by thugs, and never overthrown by America's CIA and today still is a populist democracy? Imagine a verdantly green and lucious Vietnam, not defolitated and poisoned with Agent Orange, where millions haven't been slaughtered by American bombs. Imagine a Brazil, whose government was overthrown with a American-financed military coup in the later 1960s [President Johnson's Operation Brother Sam] and today isn't mired in endless slum neighborhoods? Imagine a Chile whose democratic socialist president wasn't overthrown by an American-financed military coup, with thousands of innocents disappeared [as in taken miles out to sea by a helicopter and dropped hundreds of feet into shark-infested waters]. Imagine a country which didn't invade Panama back in the 1990s, killing several thousand souls. Imagine a country whose billions aren't poured into criminal organizations like the FBI, DIA and CIA, and private contractors with their illegal surveillance? Yes, just imagine . . .

Had to buy the book since library does not carry it. Only one chapter stands out as being solid and the rest is irrelevant. Without America where would the world be? A pretty scary place.
Our world would still be fraught with wars of expansionism and violent wealth gain by Islam, Communism and Fascism. America may not be the best place in the world according to the liberal progressives in the West, but the alternatives to America are frightening.
Personally do not think many people on this list of readers actually read the book. And those who did read the book most probably did not understand it, anyway. Most people simply do not have the necessary perspective to understand what the alternatives to America are, and look at it from a limited point of view. That limited point of view is what is sadly taught in our Western schooling systems today. Socialism like multiculturalism are the biggest bust, but the liberal progressives continue to brainwash themselves into absurd beliefs. It is one thing to make propaganda for others to believe, but when you believe your own propaganda you are just fooling yourselves, like Justin Trudeau does. He really believes his nonsense propaganda and others are fooled by the Liberals.
There are few Dinesh D'Souza's out there who are willing to risk their lives and careers to bring us truthful information. People need to be more resourceful in researching information and not be fooled by their emotional selves. The only hucksters are those who have limited ability in understanding the political world around us. Too many fools coming out of schools.
The book itself could have been much better, but he did make his point about what the world would be like without America. America isn't the problem, the alternatives to America are the problem. Isn't it amazing that millions of people from foreign countries want to live in America (and Canada), but none want to emigrate to China, Russia and the Islamic Middle East.

An interesting book though somewhat extreme! Some of the comments by the author about the president and his cabinet border on downright insulting.

from Ginni Thomas:

Dinesh D'Souza has become a courageous dissenter -- at significant personal cost -- to President Obama's transformation of America. He has a new movie, "America: Imagine a World Without Her," coming out on July 2 you will not want to miss, and he spoke to me about the recently released book that accompanies this movie, and the price he is paying for questioning authority in America.

Some are considering using this movie and Dinesh's book as an opportunity for a BUY-COTT, to encourage Dinesh for his courageous articulation of conservative values. Join his social media campaign and send this Daily Caller interview to your friends to join in!

In this 23-minute video, Dinesh discusses:

The Bergdahl trade for five Taliban terrorists
The deliberate plan to bring down America
How President Obama thinks America is exceptionally bad, while Dinesh thinks it is exceptionally good
His hope that we are close to the tipping point where progressive ideology fails:
