A dandelion seed blows across the wind with a big dream of becoming a beautiful flower just like its parents. All is gong well until it falls on a lot filled with garbage instead of fertile ground. It winters there feeling hopeless until a group of people come to the lot to clean it up and turn it into a community garden. The seed finds dirt and does what it is meant to do.

The illustrations were created with paint and pencil and have a photograph-like look to them. They are colorful and interesting.

This story brings up the question, Is a dandelion a flower or a weed? What makes it a weed? In the back is a two page description of the dandelion for those who want more scientific information. This is the sequel to The Dandelion Seed. The story is a bit abstract as it is a seed going on a journey that expects to end with germination. I would recommend it for grades k-2.
