Emotionally raw, harsh and sorrowful love story. Connelly's acting skills proved award worthy.
This was a slow movie but still very good. Anthony Mackie is an excellent actor.
After 54 minutes of boredom I shut if off. Two homeless squatters finding a luxury home unlocked and calendar shows owners on vacation so they make themselves at home. Wear their clothes, eat their food and drink their wine. Didn't watch enough to see the cops. Maybe I should have done fast forward.!!!!!!
Both heartbreaking and hopeful story written by director Paul Bettany about 2 homeless people that find strength to overcome their pasts, in each other's love. Challenges the judgments we make about the homeless in a sensitive way, with outstanding portrayals and full commitment by the actors, Jennifer Connolly (Mrs. Paul Bettany) especially, who looks like she lost 40-50 lbs. to play this role. She has seemingly lost everything and must overcome her heroin habit, and increasing self-doubt to survive.
A story about 'You make decisions and those decision make you.
Of course the cops (in every instance in this movie) are the bad guys. The couple are the victims.
